Quick Trip is the name of the gas station that has THE cheapest gas around. If you see a QT, you can bet you have found the best price for gas in the area but this post is not about gas. It is about our quick trip to the MOUNTAINS! I miss Boone so much it is not even funny. We rarely go and even when we do, it is not the same. It never will be BUT taking our kids to the mountains is something I want to do every year whether it be Boone, Blowing Rock (where we ended up), Asheville or somewhere else we've never been. When we went to family camp this year, Bella shrieked at the sight of a mountain and it wasn't even that big so I knew we could not miss out this year. She also has a fascination with leaves which makes this the perfect time of year. Fall is my absolute favorite and the mountains are my happy place. I can remember taking day trips all the time with my parents and grandmother. Anyway, this past weekend we drove on the Blue Ridge Parkway (referred to as just "the parkway" when I was in college) and stopped at several overlooks. Bella and I did a tiny hike around the Viaduct and she just wanted to keep going forever. I want to take her back one day without the littles so we can do something more intense. We did get to visit the Blowing Rock while they took a nap which was fun but she was freezing so we rushed through. One of the men working there asked her to "help him out" and feed the fish which she just thought was the most special thing ever. For lunch we stopped at the famous Woodlands which was of course crazy busy but surprisingly a short wait. The last stop was Kilwins so the girls had chocolate ice cream and we got fudge to take home. It was a good time and everybody was asleep shortly after we got down the mountain.
Bella was born on April 14th 2009 to two very proud parents. She is almost seven now! She is still very much in love with her Daddy and gets to spend lots of one-on-one time with him through Y-Guides. She also enjoys golf lessons after school once a week. She is doing well learning Spanish through the SPLASH program at her school where she is in the first grade Spanish Immersion class. She loves to dance and teach her little sister everything she knows!
Ava Hope joined us on the 4th of February 2012. She is quite the character and knows how to make us all laugh. She loves her big sister and misses her when they are apart. Her favorites are Minnie Mouse and Ariel. Everyday she surprises us with her sassy comments and wonderful memory!
Baby number three: Porter Noble came quickly on the 9th of May at 4:44 am. My labor and delivery was all less than an hour! He weighed 8lb 12oz and measured 20in. He is delightful and continues to bring great joy on a daily basis. He is learning and talking more each day and is ALL BOY!
Baby number four joined us on the 18th of January this year. Turner King was 6lbs 12oz, our smallest! He fits into the family perfectly and is very loved by his older sisters and big brother...
As for Randy and I... we met in 2006 at our job. We were southern girl and boy from Buffalo trying to make it work. It didn't take much! We couldn't live without each other and were engaged and married a short eight and eleven months later. The rest is what they call HISTORY and in this case, HER STORY...
